By using ProfileAlign (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use & Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

  • We process your uploaded documents and inputs to generate audits, improved CVs (including Europass format), cover letters, LinkedIn guides, and AI interview coaching.
  • We use AI processing (including real-time voice interviews) to deliver our services.
  • We process payments securely through Stripe and offer authentication via email OTP or Google OAuth.
  • We comply with GDPR (EU), UAE PDPL, and other applicable data protection laws.

1) The Service and Eligibility

ProfileAlign helps you optimize your career documents and interview skills. The Service includes: CV and LinkedIn profile alignment analysis, AI-generated audit reports, improved CV generation (standard and Europass formats), cover letter generation, LinkedIn optimization guides, AI-powered interview coaching with real-time voice conversations, referral programs, and educational blog content. You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use this Service.

2) Definitions

  • "User Content" means files (CV, LinkedIn PDF export), text, audio recordings during interviews, and other content you submit.
  • "Outputs" means reports, generated CVs, cover letters, interview feedback, and other content produced by the Service.
  • "Personal Data" means any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual.
  • "Controller" refers to ProfileAlign as the entity determining the purposes and means of processing your Personal Data.

3) Free Access and Paid Features

The Service offers a free tier with limited features. Paid plans (Basic Report, Job Hunter, Power Pack) unlock additional audits, CV generations, interview sessions, and other features. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Subscription terms and add-on credits are detailed on our pricing page.

4) Account and Authentication

You may create an account using email with one-time password (OTP) verification or through Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. When using Google OAuth, we only access your email address and verification status; we do not access your contacts, calendar, or other Google services.

5) Your Content and Permissions

You may upload documents such as your CV and LinkedIn PDF export. You represent that: (a) you own or have rights to this content, (b) it does not violate applicable laws or third-party rights, and (c) any personal data of third parties included has been provided with appropriate consent.

6) Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content you do not have the right to use, including confidential or third-party personal data without proper authorization.
  • Use the Service to generate unlawful, deceptive, discriminatory, or harmful content.
  • Attempt to bypass usage limits, scrape the Service, reverse engineer, or interfere with availability or security.
  • Use automated systems or bots to access the Service without express permission.

7) Data We Collect

Depending on how you use the Service, we process:

  • Identity data: email address, name (extracted from CV or provided by you).
  • Document data: text extracted from uploaded CV and LinkedIn PDF files.
  • Input data: target role, job descriptions, company information, and form responses.
  • Audio data: voice recordings during AI interview coaching sessions.
  • Payment data: processed by Stripe; we do not store full payment card details.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, timestamps, and error logs.
  • Usage data: features used, audit counts, download history, and session information.

8) Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR & UAE PDPL)

We process your Personal Data based on:

  • Contract performance: to provide the Service you requested (audits, CV generation, interviews).
  • Consent: where you have given explicit consent, such as for marketing communications or optional features.
  • Legitimate interests: for service improvement, security, fraud prevention, and analytics, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

9) Cookies and Analytics

The Service uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use analytics tools to understand usage patterns. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. We do not use cookies for behavioral advertising.

10) How We Use Data

We use your data to:

  • Provide requested functionality: generate audits, CVs, cover letters, LinkedIn guides, and interview feedback.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions through Stripe.
  • Authenticate your identity via email OTP or Google OAuth.
  • Operate, maintain, and secure the Service.
  • Improve the Service quality, performance, and user experience.
  • Send transactional emails (audit ready notifications, login codes).
  • Manage referral programs and promotional offers.

11) AI Processing

The Service uses AI systems to analyze documents, generate content, and conduct real-time voice interviews. Your data is sent to AI service providers solely to generate outputs. For interview coaching, audio is processed in real-time and converted to text for feedback generation. Important: AI-generated content may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing and validating all outputs before using them professionally.

12) Sharing with Third Parties

We share data with:

  • AI service providers: to generate outputs and process interviews.
  • Payment processor: to handle payments securely.
  • Cloud infrastructure providers: for data storage and hosting.
  • Email services: to send transactional notifications.

We do not sell your Personal Data. We share only what is necessary for service operation.

13) International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your residence, including the United States and European Union, where our service providers operate. For transfers from the EU/EEA or UAE, we implement appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and ensure recipients maintain adequate data protection standards as required by GDPR and UAE PDPL.

14) Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

  • Account data: retained while your account is active and for up to 3 years after last activity.
  • Audit reports and generated documents: retained until you delete them or delete your account.
  • Interview sessions and feedback: retained until you delete them individually or delete your account.
  • Payment records: retained as required by tax and accounting laws (typically 7 years).
  • Technical logs: retained for up to 12 months for security and debugging.

15) Security

We implement technical and organizational security measures including: HTTPS encryption in transit, secure cloud storage, access controls, CSRF protection, and security headers. However, no system is 100% secure. You should protect your account credentials and notify us of any suspected breach.

16) Your Rights

Under GDPR, UAE PDPL, and other applicable laws, you have the right to:

  • Access: request a copy of your Personal Data we hold.
  • Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure: request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restriction: limit how we process your data in certain circumstances.
  • Data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Object: object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.

17) UAE PDPL Compliance

For users in the United Arab Emirates, we comply with Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (Personal Data Protection Law). This includes obtaining appropriate consent, implementing security measures, and ensuring cross-border transfers meet UAE requirements. UAE residents have similar rights to those listed above and may contact us or the UAE Data Office for concerns.

18) Intellectual Property

The Service, its design, branding, and underlying software are owned by the service provider and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain your rights in User Content. You may use Outputs for your personal and professional purposes without restriction.

19) Disclaimers

The Service provides informational outputs and drafting assistance only. It does not constitute legal, financial, employment, or professional advice. Outputs are AI-generated and not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose. Always review outputs carefully before use.

ProfileAlign does not guarantee that using the Service will result in obtaining a job, promotion, interview, or any specific career outcome. Results depend on many factors beyond our control, including market conditions, employer decisions, and individual qualifications. The Service is a tool to help you present your profile more effectively, but employment decisions are made solely by employers.

20) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service provider shall not be liable for: indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; loss of data, profits, employment opportunities, or business opportunities; or any damages arising from reliance on AI-generated outputs. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

21) Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if required to protect the Service, users, or third parties. You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings or by contacting us. Upon termination, we will delete your data in accordance with our retention policy.

22) Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict of law principles. For users in the UAE, local consumer protection laws may also apply. Disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Barcelona, Spain, unless otherwise required by mandatory local law.
